PWES PTO
Welcome!
The PWES PTO is a group of parents, along with Ms. Finnegan and the teaching staff, working together to build the community we call Prairie Winds Elementary.  Our Mission Statement is:  To facilitate a cooperative and collaborative effort between parents and teachers to create a mutually beneficial environment for our students, our staff and our school.  By combining the efforts of all, the PTO has been able to achieve great successes in the past school years.

One of our most notable accomplishments was establishing StarBoard technology throughout PWES.  We are happy to say that StarBoard technology can be found school-wide.  For those who are not familiar with the StarBoard, it is an interactive learning tool for the classroom, which allows students to become more actively engaged in the learning process.

Last year we held our 2nd Annual Fitness-A-Thon in coordination with Field Day.  Students picked fitness activities to complete, gathered pledges and then completed them on Field Day.  We also held specific fitness events for all classes to promote the idea of good fitness.  We have been able to raise over $15,000 a year, all of which we were able to keep and use within the school.  The students were active participants, the parents and community came alongside to support the effort, all of which enhanced the school environment.

On behalf of the PWES PTO leaders and project coordinators, we invite you to join us this school year, as we support the entire PWES community with fun-filled activities and events.  Check out our other links to find out even more about the PTO. Please join us at any of our monthly meetings, held at the school, the 3rd Tuesday of every month.  It is a great way to get involved and meet some really awesome people!
